Fic rec: Karkarov-fic!
Nov. 9th, 2006 05:50 pmNot many recs here of late - I still love fic, but I'm not getting many chances to read it right now.
Still, if you read one thing in the month of November, it should be this story: Baba Yaga and the Wizard, or Karkarov the Cowardly by
perosha.
Written in the style of the creepiest old-style fairy stories, it is the tale of Karkarov, on the run from the Death Eaters in a Russian forest. It's a real breath of fresh air, and it's brilliant - not least because it makes Karkarov a human figure, if not a very likeable one. Highly recommended.
