Here's an interesting Guardian article on the subject. Some surprising names there, though I wasn't surprised to see who topped the list - the local Oxfam's shelves are always full of him.

Oh, Dan Brown. You are compulsively not for rereading. ;)

I had an Oxfam just down the street from my supervisor's office, which meant that every single time I had a supervision, I inevitably stopped in and bought a book for moral support. And possibly one after the meeting if it didn't go well.

I do plan to visit both of them when I'm back for my viva, if only to see if I can track down errant Discworld books my library here doesn't seem to have.

I'd go one step further and say for compulsively hurling out of the window!

Viva already? Doesn't time fly! Good luck with that!

That Oxfam bookshop is appallingly dangerous. I bought books there again this week....

I've never managed to finish anything by Dan Brown.

I read about a third of The Da Vinci Code and could bear no more - it was bad in ways I'd not actually come across before. But not funny enough to continue reading. That pretty effectively put me off following it up.
