I've somehow managed to delete all my music files from my MP3 player! 7GB of my finest tunes gone up in smoke!

(I should be relieved that the player itself is still sound, and that I can at least put some music back onto it from CDs tonight, but I've got so used to just having it at my fingertips. It's hard not to feel horribly bereft.)

It is all a judgement on me for not signing up to springtime_gen .

*stamps feet and curses*

Oh, no! That is awful! Do you have it backed up on your computer at all, by chance? I do that just in case -- granted, I have 30GB of music, which is mildly ridiculous...

I have them backed up in a way... I have the CDs. But I'd forgotten how much time it takes to feed one CD after another into a computer. And I can't find one or two things.

(but at least my MP3 is working. For a while I thought it had gone belly-up for good, and that, I don't mind telling you, was scary).

It's a terrible feeling of betrayal when technology lets you down like that. If you find you have missing files (I can't be the only one who goes to upload a CD and finds I've carefully filed an empty case), put out a call, and maybe we can help you out?

Thank you! It's not as grim as I thought, as it turns out that Q had copied a lot of my music files, but all the same... *kicks self, hard, and resolves to backup*
