Sherlock Holmes and the Delayed Update

If you've been watching this journal waiting for your weekly dose of Sherlock Holmes I'm afraid you have waited in vain - at least for this week. The two days I'd set aside for writing turned into days devoted to lying on the sofa feeling poorly in between bouts of trying to catch up with real-life work - and that was that for this week's chapter.

There'll be further delays in the next few weeks as I rush to complete my  hp_summergenfic and sort out unrelated RL matters, but Holmes has not gone away - in the best British tradition his train has merely been delayed, and before too very long he will arrive at his destination, tired, ill-tempered and resentful but perfectly safe.

Oh, I'm all right really - it's just some lurgy that's been going around. Nothing that a few pipes of foul tobacco and possibly a syringe or two wouldn't cure... ;)

Don't I know it about the train. I'm supposed to be taking one home the day after tomorrow - about 7 hours on what should be a direct line. It's really embarrassing how rubbish we are at trains in this country.
