In the Guardian, of all places.
Dumbledore's death in the style of Alexander McCall Smith.
Turns out to be quite a few years old, but it's still a goody.
Having read several of the Numer 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, that slightly soothing, slightly patronising set of books that really only works when you're very tired, I lol'd.

The Christmas Letter
Dec. 9th, 2008 05:09 pmHaving just made a Scary Phone Call of Doom (which has nothing whatsoever to do with this journal, so I won't talk about it here, but I had been dreading, and am very pleased it's all done successfully), my mind naturally turns to fanfic.
The last couple of years I've done Narcissa Malfoy's Christmas Letters. (and here are the links, because I never miss a chance to link shamlessly to my own writing - post-Goblet of Fire. Post-Deathly Hollows). They were a lot of fun to write, but I don't really see how I can do another Narcissa letter, because it's hard to see how she could keep up that degree of wilful ignorance for a whole year - or pry Lucius from his "health spa" in Las Vegas, if it comes to that.
I still rather fancy doing a Harry Potter themed Christmas letter, though, and thought I might have a bash at writing someone else's Christmas Letter. Any suggestions?
